Optimizing Your Cloud Journey with Catalyst

Aug 8, 2024 | Articles, Videos

When it comes to cloud computing starting off on the right foot can be the key to long-term success. One way to ensure this is by leveraging our Catalyst program, a comprehensive initiative designed to familiarize customers with our services while thoroughly understanding their unique environments. This blog post explores the initial steps and benefits of partnering with us through Catalyst, offering insights into the value-added services and strategic processes that set the foundation for your cloud journey.

Catalyst: The First Step to Building a Strong Partnership

Embarking on a cloud journey with us begins with Catalyst. This program is not only about getting the customer acquainted with our offerings, but also about helping us understand their environment as a whole. Catalyst features a variety of value-led services, such as well-architected framework reviews and cloud security posture assessments. The primary goal is to optimize the existing infrastructure while identifying clear next steps, as opposed to simply overhauling the current setup.

The Kickoff Call: Laying the Groundwork

The process starts with a kickoff call designed to introduce all key players. During this call, we identify team members from both sides who will be involved in managing the cloud environment. Stakeholders crucial to the project’s success are also mapped out. This initial step ensures that everyone is on the same page and ready to move forward collaboratively.

Diving into Cloud Security

One of the most crucial aspects of our Catalyst program is examining your current cloud security posture. Often, the first deep dive involves a comprehensive assessment aimed at identifying any potential vulnerabilities. We investigate the existing system to discover any open doors or cracked windows that could pose security risks. From there, we strategize on how to improve and refine your cloud security measures.

Investing in Our Customers

Financial considerations are also factored into the Catalyst program. Even if you are currently billed $30,000 a month, this cost remains the same as we transition to our side of the rebuild. Our focus is on incorporating the margin we make from a resale perspective to fund these value-led services. Essentially, we invest back into our customers, ensuring they receive top-notch services without additional financial burden.

Moving Forward

In conclusion, Catalyst is designed to be an integral first step in your journey with us. By providing a structured approach to both familiarize you with our offerings and allow us to understand your specific needs, we set the stage for long-term success. Whether through well-architected framework reviews or detailed cloud security posture assessments, our goal is to optimize what you have today and clearly define steps for future improvement. Catalyst is not just a program; it’s an investment in your cloud journey and a testament to our commitment to your success.

Embark on this mutually beneficial journey with us and see how Catalyst can transform your cloud experience.

Cost Optimization

Issue: Small AWS deployment with little management oversight and a lack of cloud skills internal to the organization moving from traditional infrastructure to SaaS and cloud based solutions.

What we did

  1. AWS Audit
  2. Cost Optimization Review
  3. Ongoing Monitoring

Result:

  • Eliminated unused storage volumes and the old application server no longer in use, the charges for AWS resulted in a savings of 51% per month.
  • We’ll continue to monitor AWS billing and finance to ensure maintenance of savings and identify other future changes.
